Cross Examination of FortisBC Expert Panel For BCUC On Application For Wireless Smart Meters

As construction, electrical and consulting professionals our jobs are to ensure building development complies with applicable codes. Buildings are financed and insured based on compliance with applicable codes including municipal or regional building codes.

Conflicts between trades, architects, engineers or the authority are resolved with rulings made and any liability placed. At the end of the day, compliance with building code is required or there will be no occupancy.

When it came to consulting on wireless deployment and frequencies interacting with humans or buildings, we went through authorities having jurisdiction including the Government of BC. It was alarming to have political interests interfere with due process and not get the required responses. From BC Hydro to Energy, Housing or Health, government ministers and administrators were not responding to government trained/certified professionals specific to the issues.

It was during the FortisBC application that we found out why. The BC Legislature had allowed BC Hydro to bypass all regulatory process to install smart meters. That is horrific because code changes or law changes take years because ALL applicable industry has to be included.

It is very important to understand utilities can work on their meters. Those meters can not contain antennas radiating large geographical areas and occupants of the buildings. BC Hydro deployed meters and blanket radiation of municipalities, agriculture, businesses without authority or jurisdiction. BC Hydro didn’t consult or inform education, any sciences, insurers, mortgage companies, architects, engineers, fire departments, trades or even building inspection of the cities.

Buildings are designed, insured and comply with building codes for their intended use or environmental loading. Building development is not designed for RF EMF bombardment, MRI chambers are for one example.

BC Hydro as the provinces bigger utility did not go through any regulatory process but FortisBC did and their application moved forward with extremely critical science missing. That science was beyond the scope of the BCUC’s technical understanding and jurisdiction. Here is a link to the FortisBC Application on British Columbia Utilities Commission Website so you can see the extensive process and documents.

The link below is part of Volume 6 of the FortisBC application to the BCUC. Curtis Bennett attended the oral hearings as a registered intervener for several communities as well as in his professional capacity as a government certified professional specific to buildings/electrical energy and as Adjunct Faculty for medical education.

Causality and biological plausibility linking the frequencies to adverse health effects had been missing for decades.

Smart Grid Killing Our Trees!

Planet Earth has a magnetic field that sustains all life on the planet. Migratory birds, pollinators responsible for food sources and even Salmon use the Earth’s magnetic field for navigation. Our survival as a species depends on the magnetic field.

There is a big difference between a magnetic field and an electromagnetic field(EMF) Where magnetism is natural, use of man made EMFs has to be considered very carefully. There are real reasons we wire the world and confine EMFs to an insulated conductor or there will be consequences. Here is an Electrical Frequency Problem in Lumber Mill that was created because of an electrical installation missing a small piece of mica board. It could have resulted in serious electrical failure, explosions, fires, lost economy as well as injury or death.

There is controversy over the wireless grid used for cell phone, Wi-Fi and the deployment of smart meters or smart devices. There is an illusion that wireless is cheaper with big savings but it isn’t a reality. Here is a picture of the Specific Absorption Rate used to determine limits of human exposure. We fly to Mars yet here is the science of safety on wireless exposure. It is a mannequin head with a temperature probe in the top to see if the liquid simulating tissue heats up.

Here is a utility picture of a wireless smart grid for smart meters and this part of the wireless grid was left out of safety levels. Human or biology electricity was also left out of the equation.

The grid above was deemed safe even though codes admit they missed the link to adverse health effects. Humans and other biology weren’t considered electrical. Everything in existence and all life is made from what you see on the Periodic Table or combinations of. Everything on the table is electrical with neutrons, protons and electrons. High speed man made EMFs affect everything they interact with and the reason caution is used in wireless use. Look at the grid above where the plan is to blanket the planet with wireless frequencies for ease of communication. The problem is nothing in the 1000s of square miles of coverage areas run at those frequencies and they will adversely affect everything in the coverage areas.

Here is the reporting of Andrew Goldsworthy titled “Why our Urban Trees are Dying” I want to follow this with work we do. Trees, plants and green space cover the surface of the planet for temperature regulation as well. Here is a time-lapsed infrared video showing you how solar EMFs and the same UV that burns skin will affect exposed ground and development. There is a second time-lapsed infrared showing the heat generated on the exterior transferring through a 6 inch wall. How deep into exposed ground is the heat transferring and what grows or lives in that heat?

We love our wireless devices but we are not electrically compatible. If your life doesn’t concern you, your investments being affected will. We better wake up before it is too late.

There are Wired Alternatives to Wireless Smart Meters

When it comes to wireless meters on your buildings or Wi-Fi in schools, governments and school boards are installing wireless thinking it is more cost effective. It costs significantly more to hard wire 30 computer stations than it does to plug in a Wi-Fi Router that provides wireless coverage throughout the classroom.

It costs less to radiate 5 sq. miles with a smart meter router than it does to wire all the smart devices in the coverage area. One of Texas Oncor’s collectors radiates 125 sq. miles and it seems cheaper than wiring all the smart meters in the coverage areas.

These frequencies as applied are dangerous across the board and the liabilities will far exceed any benefit. Topping that off is the energy savings associated with the frequencies is really non existent. Here is our submission to a Public Utilities Commission supporting the suspension of a utility application for wireless or a denial of the application. The images show the massive energy waste reacting to symptoms when the energy could be saved through real solutions.

There are wired alternatives to wireless and here is an example. This customer in Texas was concerned whether they had a wireless smart meter and asked how their analog electrical meter was read from a central location. Here is the response from the Texas utility and they read the meter without compromising your privacy or radiating the building, people, pregnant women, fetus, vulnerable patients, pets, pollinators, infrastructure, ecosystems, wildlife, pacemaker recipients, etc.

There are real reasons we confine electrical signals in wires. Radiating large areas with wireless puts everything in the circuit and we aren’t insulated for it. Here is the response from the Texas utility:

Dear Ms. Gorelick:
Thank you for contacting us through our website. The automated meter at your location transmits readings over the same electric distribution lines that deliver your electricity. A device in the meter records the revolutions of the disk that measures the amount of electricity used. This data is electronically delivered to our billing system, where it is stored and used to calculate your bill each month. This information is also used to generate your My Use Energy Analyzer reports allowing you to monitor your electric usage on a daily basis via our Member Portal.
Our bill format is designed to communicate clearly all relevant information about your electricity use and costs. View the sample bill for more detail.

Service Dates define the period of electric use your bill is based upon. The Beginning Reading and Ending Reading show meter-reading information for this billing period. Meters are read automatically on a daily basis. Monthly Service Availability Charge is a fixed minimum charge for being connected to the electric distribution system. Delivery Charge ($ per kWh use) accounts for that portion of the costs for delivering electric service recovered through kilowatt hours (kWh) consumed and billed.

Total Power Cost reflects the costs of PEC’s power suppliers and consists of:
Base Power Cost ($ per kWh use): This is the power supply cost at the time the rate was determined by the cost-of-service study. Power Cost Adjustment ($ per kWh use): This represents fluctuations (+/-) to the actual cost of power determined by the power suppliers on a monthly basis.
Power cost adjustments are automatically reflected in member bills on a monthly basis, requiring no additional Board action.

We hope this information satisfies your request, however; if you would like additional information or need further assistance please feel free to contact us again.

Sincerely,

Nuclear Power Plants, Refineries, Gas Plants, Buildings, Infrastructure, Etc Being Radiated

The science on the safety and deployment of a smart meters as well as other smart devices has only been dealing with the end use device. The rest of the wireless infrastructure communicating with wireless devices was left out of the discussion.

The reason we have to be very careful with radio frequencies is because the EMFs go through buildings, infrastructure, people, plants, birds, bees, pollinators and will interact with anything they hit. What has happened with wireless is that technology has developed faster than safety. It gives the illusion of being much cheaper to use wireless because you save money on construction costs wiring it. An example is wireless laptops in a classroom. If we have 30 computer stations in the classroom, it is easier to put in a Wi-Fi Router and provide coverage throughout the classroom than it is to construct and wire 30 computer stations. The problem is we have put the children and teachers in the wireless circuit. They aren’t protected and the frequencies are electromagnetically inducing them. The problem with that is they already have their own electricity.

The difference between wired and wireless is wired uses insulated conductors where wireless uses the air, it isn’t insulated and anything hit by the frequencies is a potential conductor in the wireless circuit.

Think of science today, flying, space flight and even landing on Mars. Here is a picture of the science used around the world for protection from wireless. It is called the Specific Absorption Rate. Wi-Fi is considered safe because the computers isn’t held against the head and smart meters are considered safe because they aren’t held against the head. The red arrow is the cell phone and the white arrow is a temperature probe in the top of the head.

Here is a diagram of a utility’s smart grid. The routers cover several square miles and each collector 100s of sq. miles. Pretty simple to see this part of the wireless circuit was left out of safety as well as the bio electricity of everything the frequencies interact with.

As you can see by the diagram above these frequencies are covering large areas to communicate with smart meters. What isn’t considered is the frequencies going through buildings, businesses, industries, infrastructure, volatile areas and include Nuclear Power Plants. When frequencies or EMFs go through concrete, fire separations and other materials, there are problems with that interaction. The equivalent of molecular earthquakes happens at high speeds that can be measured. If the frequencies are 900 MHz. vibrations 1.8 billion times per second will happen and that accelerates corrosion. Here is an example of an extremely low frequency of 60 Hz in an insured lumber mill application application. You can see the problem in the infrared spectrum creating a problem that could cause serious explosions, fires, lost production and loss of life. http://www.thermoguy.com/pdfs/Electrical_Frequency_Problem_in_Lumbermill.pdf

The simple point is we DO NOT blast frequencies around with reckless abandon under any circumstances, there will be real consequences. Nuclear Facilities, refineries, gas plants, bridges, infrastructure, volatile environments are not designed for this frequency bombardment. That makes these facilities more dangerous with premature failure or inducing electrical charges that will cause explosions or fires. The wireless industry is expanding and more wireless devices mean more electrical load or power density. That means the interactions with buildings, infrastructure, nuclear facilities, people, etc will be more powerful.
